Chen graduated from Hohai University with a bachelor's degree. Due to her excellent academic performance, she was exempted from the graduate entrance exam and was able to be recommended for admission to Shanghai Jiao Tong University for her master’s degree as an Outstanding Graduate. During her Ph.D. studies, her primary research focus was on the application of redox-active polymers (e.g., COFs) in the energy and environmental fields. This research led her to receive the CBE Graduate Student Award for Research Excellence and the Best Poster Award at the CBE 30th anniversary conference. Her hobbies are dance and painting.
